Le Sony Xperia Z3 commence déjà à faire parler

Comme ses prédécesseurs, le Xperia Z2 devrait conserver son statut de flagship pour une durée de six mois, soit jusqu'à la rentrée prochaine. Pourtant, les premières rumeurs concernant son successeur commencent déjà à faire surface.

Sony a pris pour habitude de renouveler son smartphone haut de gamme tous les six mois. Il poursuivra dans cette voie, comme l'a confirmé un dirigeant de la firme peu après l'annonce du Xperia Z2. La raison invoquée ? Rester compétitif. Un Xperia Z3 devrait donc arriver à la rentrée prochaine, voire même un peu plus tôt à en croire une nouvelle rumeur relayée par G4Games.

Sony miserait sur un lancement au mois d'aout, et non septembre comme l'année dernière. Rien de réellement surprenant. LG est sur le point de lancer un G3 mieux équipé que les smartphones actuellement sur le marché. Samsung et HTC auraient déjà prévu une riposte avec des variantes « Prime » de leurs flagships respectifs : les Galaxy S5 et One (M8). Sony s'alignerait tout simplement. La source avance également d'autres arguments pour appuyer ses propos.

Deux premières photos

Les premiers prennent la forme de photos que nous relayons en fin d'article. Elles présenteraient le cadre du Xperia Z3, toujours en métal mais un peu différent de celui qui borde les modèles précédents. Sony aurait ici déposé un revêtement par PVD, un procédé qui présente de nombreux avantages. Tout d'abord, il est plus écologique. Ensuite, le résultat est plus résistant aux chocs, aux rayures mais aussi à la corrosion.

Quelques éléments techniques

Plusieurs caractéristiques techniques sont également évoquées : un écran HD 1080p, un processeur Snapdragon 805 cadencé à 2,7 GHz, 3 Go de RAM ainsi qu'un appareil photo de 20,7 mégapixels. Autrement dit, la principale évolution du Xperia Z3 résiderait dans le processeur. C'est sans doute un peu mince. Sony serait notamment le seul à ne pas proposer un écran Quad HD. Si cela devrait ravir ceux qui n'y voient aucun intérêt, pour notre part, nous restons plutôt sceptiques.

Le Xperia Z2 devrait laisser place au Xperia Z3 avant la fin d'année. Les premières rumeurs suggèrent que les évolutions seront plus importantes dehors que dedans.

Suite à quelques complications en production, le Xperia Z2 est finalement arrivé dans le commerce le mois dernier. Espérons que le scénario ne se répétera avec son successeur, le Xperia Z3 attendu à la rentrée prochaine. Une chose est sûre, les rumeurs le concernant, elles, ne sont pas en retard. Voire même un peu en avance. La dernière a été lancée sur Twitter par le grand DooMLorD, généralement bien au fait des activités de Sony.

Pas de Snapdragon 805

Peu d'informations ont cependant été révélées. Aucune concernant la fiche technique notamment, ou presque : le Snapdrgon 805 n'y figurerait pas. Un précieux indice tout de même. Le Snapdragon 810 n'étant pas attendu avant l'année prochaine, nous aurions alors affaire au Snapdragon 801 par élimination.

Autrement dit, le Z3 ne présenterait que peu d'évolutions sur le plan technique. Il conserverait le processeur du Z2, mais aussi son écran (Full HD) et son appareil photo (20,7 mégapixels) à en croire les rumeurs précédentes.

Un design amélioré

Contre toute attente, c'est le design que l'on trouverait au coeur des préoccupations de Sony. Du moins certains aspects. Le Xperia Z3 reprendra sans doute les marqueurs connus de la gamme mais se distinguerait par des dimensions mieux maitrisées. Dans la largeur, grâce à des bordures d'écran plus étroites. Dans l'épaisseur également, estimée à 7 mm. Cela nous rappelle évidemment le récent Xperia T3... La compacité serait-elle le nouveau fil directeur de Sony ?

Sony likes to refresh its flagship Android smartphones twice per year, unlike most of its competitors. The practice has proven somewhat controversial (especially among owners of the previous top of the line device when the new one comes out), but it looks like it's here to stay.

So you should expect the Japanese company to unveil the successor to the Xperia Z2 sometime in the fall - probably at or around IFA at the beginning of September.

The next high-end Sony smartphone may be called Xperia Z3, and it could also be joined in the company's portfolio by a smaller version called Z3 Compact.

What you see in the images above are allegedly exactly these two phones. On the left we have a side-by-side shot of a white Z3 and a black Z3 Compact, and on the right is just the Xperia Z3 itself, showing its entire front fascia.

Both devices seem to feature significantly smaller lateral bezels compared to their respective predecessors, which is definitely a great thing in this day and age (when certain Sony handsets look painfully out of date in this regard compared to some of LG's offerings, for example).

Otherwise, though, nothing is known about the Xperia Z3 and the Z3 Compact yet. The latter will come to succeed the Z1 Compact, and it's interesting to note that there was no Xperia Z2 Compact. That makes sense, however, when you consider that the Z1 Compact was outed just one month prior to the full size Z2 - and this fall Sony may understandably want both of its new wares to sport the same name, for consistency's sake.

Before you jump to any conclusions, though, do keep in mind that there's obviously a chance for these leaked pictures to be faked.

Sony’s upcoming flagship smartphone, the Xperia Z3 has appeared in a set of leaked images. The successor of the Xperia Z2 smartphone more or less features the same design language as the current model with minor changes.

The leaked images show the smartphone in all possible angles. It looks like the Sony Xperia Z3 sides will be curved as compared to the flat design in the Xperia Z2. This seems to be the answer for all those who complained that the Xperia Z2 was uncomfortable to hold in hands.

The other minor design changes include the repositioning of the speaker grille, which has been moved a bit towards the left side of the smartphone. The secondary speaker seems to be absent in these leaked images and that means Xperia Z3 might not sport stereo speakers like its predecessor did. However, we might be looking at an early prototype and things might change in the final design.

The magnetic connector, microSD, micro SIM and micro USB port flaps are all present on the left and the right side of the device respectively. Sony has retained the dedicated camera button and it looks like the 20.7 megapixel Exmor RS sensor with G Lens is also on-board.

We've already saw a plethora of leaked live pictures allegedly showing the upcoming Sony Xperia Z3 flagship expected to go official this Fall. We were even treated to some specs thanks to the first batch of photos - Snapdragon 801 MSM8974AC chipset with a quad-core 2.5GHz Krait 400 CPU and Adreno 330 GPU. We even saw the camera still uses a 20.7MP Sony lens and the phone runs on an Android 4.4.4 OS build.

Some people were concerned this isn’t in fact the Sony Xperia Z3 but rather the Xperia Z2 Compact due to the very similar specs with the current flagship. The design definitely looks different with those curved sides instead of the flat Xperia Z2. And they were probably right to think so. But the latest leak proves the pictured device is definitely not a Z2 Compact as it is as tall as the first Samsung Galaxy Note - 147mm.

There are two new pictures too exploring the top and the bottom of the new unknown device.

So, if this is indeed the Sony Xperia Z3 - it will come this September and will feature very similar specs to the current Sony Xperia Z2. Here is hoping this isn't in fact the Xperia Z3 and Sony will eventually surprise us in the Fall.

Des photos du Xperia Z3 viennent d'être diffusées sur la toile. Elles présentent un smartphone aux tranches étroites et arrondies, bien loin des arêtes tranchantes des précédents modèles de la gamme.

 

 

Le Xperia Z2 ressemble à s'y méprendre au Xperia Z1. Le Xperia Z1, au Xperia Z. Le moins que l'on puisse dire, c'est que Sony ne prend pas trop de risque avec le design de ses smartphones haut de gamme depuis l'année dernière. Et, si nous apprécions toujours autant le choix des matériaux, force est de reconnaître que le design fétiche du Nippon n'est pas exempt de tout défaut. L'encombrement en fait notamment partie, mais peut-être plus pour très longtemps.

 

Il semblerait que Sony ait décidé de revoir sa copie pour le prochain modèle de la gamme Z. Deux nouvelles photos du Xperia Z3 circulent sur la toile et montrent un design légèrement différent de celui que nous connaissions jusqu'ici. Une fois n'est pas coutume, elles ont été diffusées par @evleaks. Les voici :

Un design plus fin et arrondi

 

Le cliché ci-dessus à droite présente l'arrière du smartphone. Sony a visiblement conservé la plaque de verre trempée, ainsi que la position de l'appareil photo toujours accompagné d'un Flash LED. Les tranches sont en revanche plus arrondies que d'habitude, ce qui se confirme avec la photo de gauche. La bande plate du milieu a disparu, peut-être par manque de place, le smartphone ayant l'air plus mince que ses prédécesseurs.

 

Il présente par ailleurs des boutons légèrement différents à droite, plus discrets et moins protubérants, pour la mise sous tension, le volume et le déclenchement (photo). Reste désormais à découvrir l'avant. Espérons que les espaces autour de l'écran ont également été réduits. Ce que nous voyons ici est en tout cas prometteur.

 

Différent à l'extérieur, mais peut-être pas à l'intérieur

 

Cependant, si la gamme Xperia Z semble enfin changer de forme, elle pourrait stagner sur le plan technique. Les dernières rumeurs concernant le Xperia Z3 indiquent qu'il conserverait la plupart des spécifications du Xperia Z2 : écran HD 1080p de 5,2 pouces, processeur Snapdragon 801, 3 Go de RAM, APN 20,7 mégapixels...

Hot on the heels of its compact sibling's shots, Sony Xperia Z3 press images leaked out in the eve of its scheduled announcement. The press photos showcase the upcoming flagship in four different color schemes, headed by a rather fashion-centric copper finish.

The remaining three colors in the leaked photos are black, white, and green. Other than the fresh color schemes, the press photos of the handset carry no surprises – they are right in line with past leaks.

In addition to the Sony Xperia Z3, the press images reveal a wearable device with an E Ink display. It is all but certain to debut alongside the already leaked, next generation smartwatch by the manufacturer.

Sony Xperia Z3 specs were seemingly confirmed earlier today. The smartphone will be announced alongside a Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact and Sony Xperia Z3 Compact.

The anticipated Sony Xperia Z3 is official, just 6 months after its latest Xperia Z2 flagship. Also revealed is the sequel to the very capable Xperia Z1 Compact, the Xperia Z3 Compact. Also, Sony has announced the latest addition to its entry-level lineup, the Sony Xperia E3.

The Sony Xperia Z3 runs on a quad-core 2.5GHz MSM8974AC Snapdragon 801 chip, alongside 3GB of RAM and Adreno 330 graphics. There's no 2K screen to be found, as all the new members of the Xperia family feature 1080p displays. The Z3 comes in at 5.2 inches, just like its predecessor.

 

 

Sony was able to trim off about 1mm from all of its dimensions as well as 11g off its weight, making it lighter and thinner than the Xperia Z2. The Omnibalance design has been furthered by the inclusion of a high quality metal frame to complement the glass front and rear panels.

Color options include the standard black and white, as well as the impressive silver-green and copper variants.

 

 

The Xperia Z3 Compact is the sequel to the highly capable Xperia Z1 Compact flagship. As before, the Z3 Compact is simply a smaller version of the Xperia Z3, with the same robust processor and graphics chip.

It obviously comes with a smaller screen diagonal than the Z3, but it does come in at 4.6" - larger than the 4.3" of the Xperia Z1 Compact. The screen resolution remains at 720p, however, and the RAM has been downgraded to 2GB. The 2,600mAh battery is another step down from the 3,100mAh unit on the Xperia Z3, but greater than the 2,300mAh unit found on the Xperia Z1 Compact.

 

 

The dual glass panel design also makes its way onto to Z3 Compact, with the panels slightly sticking out the front and back of the device, giving it a unique feel all to itself.

The Z3 Compact is set to come in more "youthful" colors than the Xperia Z3, offering green and orange besides the standard black and white.

 

 

Finally, the Xperia E3 is touted by Sony as being their cheapest LTE phone, offering a 4.5-inch 480 x 854px display, quad-core 1.2GHz processor, and Adreno 305 graphics. There's a 5MP/1.3MP camera combo, 1GB of RAM, and 4GB of internal storage. It's all powered by a 2,330mAh battery.

 

 

It will have an exclusive yellow color variant.
