After few analysts reported yesterday that Nokia Lumia device sales were not up to the expectations, websites like Forbes posted the information. That led to more than 5% falling of Nokia shares in the market. To clear the air, Nokia today said that early Windows Phone sales are off to an excellent start.

 

“Lumia 800 sales in the U.K. are off to an excellent start,”

 

“Based on earliest data, the sales start of the Lumia 800 is the best ever first week of Nokia smart phone sales in the U.K. in recent history,” . “By our measures, we have gained significant smartphone sell-out share in the channels in which we are operating in the U.K.,” Nokia spokesman James Etheridge said.

 

“While it is not our policy to disclose individual product sales figures outside our quarterly financial results, we feel there has been premature sales analysis on the performance of the Lumia 800,” Etheridge said.

 

“Given our deliberate, sequenced roll out across countries and with future launches ahead, this is a critical metric for long-term success,” Etheridge said.

The launch of Nokia’s Lumia 800 continues to garner speculation as to its early success or failure. Nokia initially said they were excited about the response they’d seen in the initial UK release, even amid reports that sales were tepid relative to other top tier smartphones. Now they are responding once again to defend the sales performance of their new Windows Phone 7 handset.

 

Pierre Ferragu, Bernstein Research analyst, started off the second round of criticism. Ferragu claims that his analysis of Google Trends found the amount of search “buzz” for the Lumia 800 was the same as that seen for the N8, a previous top shelf Nokia smartphone that saw limited sales. Widespread coverage of Ferragu’s findings have been blamed for a drop in Nokia share prices this week.

 

In responding to Ferragu’s claims, Nokia spokesman James Ethridge said, "Based on earliest data, the sales start of the Lumia 800 is the best ever first week of Nokia smart phone sales in the U.K. in recent history." He also indicated that according to Net Promoter Scores – a measure of how likely an owner is to recommend the product to a friend – the Lumia 800 is the most successful Nokia device in recent history.

 

The team from Espoo isn’t out of the thicket yet; as we reported yesterday, Pacific Crest analyst James Faucette downgraded sales expectations for the quarter, suggesting that Nokia may only ship half a million Lumia 800 units to retailers. That’s down sharply from the 2 million units originally forecast.

 

We think it might be a tad premature to write off any phone after a week or two of (unreleased) sales numbers. The phone hasn’t even hit the North American market. Yet it’s hard to deny that a continuing stream of bad news can only hurt the willingness of carriers to pick up the phone, and might decrease consumer demand in markets that are still waiting for its release.

I don’t know what the stock size is at Orange stores but I keep getting reports that they’re selling out of Nokia Lumia 800s. The one in Manchester has sold plenty and has sold out of cases for the Lumia 800. In Liverpool and Preston, a couple of friends said they went there to try and upgrade but have been told they were sold out already.

Today, news seem to take another spin. Deutsche Bank is projecting 2 Million Nokia Windows Phone units being sold before the end of the year. Nokia is reporting that Lumia sales in the UK have been a success, surpassing every Nokia release in recent history. Vodafone UK, The Phone House in France, and other retailers consistently have the Lumia 800 in the number 2 spot of best selling phones behind the iPhone, meaning the Lumia 800 is outselling every Android smartphone out there. And stores in the UK are running out of 800s to sell.

Le Lumia 800 reprend le design du N9, il est doté d'un processeur de 1.4 GHz, de 512 Mo RAM et d’une mémoire interne de 16 Go. Son écran tactile possède une diagonale de 9.39 cm (3.7") et il intègre un appareil photo avec flash de 8 mégapixels pouvant filmer en HD 720p. Disponible dès le début de l’année prochaine, il sera proposé au prix conseillé de CHF 648.-

Et il s'en sort plutôt bien dans le reste de l'Europe malgré ce que disaient les rumeurs...

Et puis bien sûr il est les infos que vous avez sûrement déjà vu publiées sur d’autres sites spécialisés : les deux versions du Lumia sont dans le top 3 des ventes juste derrière l’iPhone chez Vodaphone UK (visiblement en rupture de stock dans certaines boutiques, après reste à vérifier…lesdits stocks), top 3 des ventes chez l’opérateur KPN aux Pays-Bas, numéro 1 chez O2 en Allemagne…

Le verdict

"Deux dindes ne font pas un aigle", avait perfidement déclaré un des dirigeants de Google, Vic Gundotra, à l’annonce de l’accord entre Nokia et Microsoft. A l’essai, ce premier modèle lui donne tort : le Lumia 800 est un mobile fort recommandable, bien plus réussi même que nombre de modèles sous Android. Mais cela suffira-t-il ? Les cimetières de la high-tech sont remplis de produits excellents, mais sortis trop tôt ou trop tard. Souhaitons à ce modèle de ne pas les rejoindre.

la mise a jours m'as était proposer également au déballage de mon telephone

pour l'autonomie je ne me prononce pas encore étant donner que je joue bcp avec , mais je trouve mango trés intuitif et assez simple d'accée
