I’m not sure if this info is new, but again I’m pretty sure that this is rumor so just take a very small pinch of salt for this topic. Unwiredview have dug on some Nokia related rumors on the web. It’s about the Nokia N8 successor, either be it on the name of Nokia 801 or Nokia 810 or whatever, it seems this rumor is opening some light to the future camera king of Nokia that will replace N8 on its throne by the time it will be launched next year on February during MWC 2012. The said speculations poured some details on the innards and camera prowess. It is said that the Nokia 801 might sports a bigger camera sensor 12MP up with optical zoom or ‘true zoom’, 3.5″ Gorilla Glass CBD? WVGA display (800x480pixels) same as Nokia Lumia 800 and Nokia N9, a 1GHz clocked processor with 512MB RAM. Furthermore, the Nokia 801 might be the first device to run on Symbian C or the next update from Belle. There is also a possibility that the Belle is the last update for the current Symbian^3 smartphones due to hardware restrictions like resolution. On the other hand, the possibility of Nokia 801 running on Symbian C is great due to the inability of current Windows Phone to support the camera system for N8 successor. But we will surely see a camera beast on Windows Phone form later next year. So for now, are these datum make you more excited on the N8 successor? icon smile Nokia N8 Successor Nokia 801 on Symbian C In The Making, Ready To Be Unveiled On MWC 2012? source: Symbianworld.org Citer

Alyster_972 Posté(e) le 16 novembre 2011 Auteur Signaler Posté(e) le 16 novembre 2011 la rumeur est cofirmée à priro... Cf cette vidéo à 1m35 Rest assured cameraphone fans, Nokia is still thinking about you. The manufacturer of the N8 is already working on its successor, which will come out some time next year. The confirmation came at the Nokia Lumia 800 launch event in Russia and was brought by the company VP Eric Bertman so it's pretty official. According to him, next year Nokia will be releasing something even better than the N8 in 2012. He didn't provide any more details, like the OS that the device will be using. Previously we heard that Symbian is very much on the cards, but Windows Phone certainly seems the more probable platform of choice of the new cameraphone king. You can check out the full interview in the following video. The N8 bit comes at about 1:36. So what’re your thoughts on the matter? Is a great camera all that is preventing you from going for a Nokia WP smartphone? Or would you have rather had it in MeeGo flavor? Alyster_972 Posté(e) le 9 janvier 2012 Auteur Signaler Posté(e) le 9 janvier 2012 Another day another bit of info from dsmobile, resident Nokia insider, about the Nokia N8 successor. Whilst talking about the upcoming Nokia Lumia 900 he mentions that the next ‘camera phone’ will have a curved screen. I’m liking the sound of that, particularly since oddly, Nokia has chosen to change the curved screen on the 900 to a flat screen with a seemingly horrid raised bezel. Just my opinion though. I hope the N8 successor does not look like another iPhone in a case. AKA, curved rectangle and the Nokia tapered edges. Whilst those tapered edges make it slightly different, it WASTES SO MUCH DAMN SPACE. That phone should be slimmer. It’s just too fat for that size of the device. Also flat screen makes it look N9 gone bad as I told before. Even the screen is flat but edges should been curved like they are in Next camera phone and it just looks much better. 10mm from middle and small curve to that screen edge and that would be much better. Now it has metal around the screen and that feels sharp. http://mynokiablog.com/2012/01/09/sneak-peek-at-the-nokia-ces-booth-and-nokia-lumia-900/comment-page-1/#comment-448667 Now he could have been talking about any next Nokia as they all have cameras, and are essentially all camera phones, but to distinguish a model by calling it camera phone suggests it’s the one that will succeed the Nokia N8. Not only is the N8 successor sporting a curved screen, it’s looking much better than the Nokia Lumia 900. source: MyNokiaBlog Citer

While there are quite a few phones on that list the only one I am really interested in is the rumored N8 successor the Nokia 808 PureView. While no further details were given I am assuming it’s running Nokia Belle. Honestly I don’t care if it’s running S40 any phone that has a camera that makes my N8′s camera look bad by way of comparaison, I want it ! la suite sur NokiaInnovation.com Citer
