The guys over at WPowerUser apparently found out why there are no dual core Windows Phones yet, and the reason is supposedly Nokia. Apparently the company was too new to Qualcomm chips, and Microsoft figured Nokia might not be able to ship a Dual Core device by the end of the year. As a result they’d miss the holiday season, and neither Nokia nor Microsoft wanted that. Other OEMs like HTC and Samsung were not allowed to build a dual core handset, which gave Nokia a chance to churn out the Nokia 800 and Nokia 710 lumia windows phones. Would they be the lat single core Windows Phones we see? Probably not, but now that Nokia has their hardware out the Dual-Core-ban should probably be lifted, allowing all OEMs to make their Dual core faster Windows PHones. Every OEM out there is pushing Dual Core (and now Quad Core) Android phones, but I’ve never really thought Windows Phone needed it. Guess we have a lot to see in 2012, eh? sources: Zomgitscj.com & Wmpoweruser.com Citer
